Easter!

Savannah was so excited when she woke up Easter morning! She came in and woke me up and told me that she thought that the Easter Bunny had come! She searched the whole house before finding her basket, which had some how appeared in her bedroom!
Melanie was just excited to wake up and find that there was candy in her crib! Both girls got books, some candy, hair bows, a dress, and new white sandals.

Savannah also got a Wii game.
And Melanie got 101 Dalmations.

They busted out the candy as soon as possible!

They looked so cute in their dresses for church! After church we went to Jon's parents' for an egg hunt and dinner. Savannah loved looking for eggs, while Melanie couldn't quite figure out what the big deal was (but Daddy helped her).

Melanie just loved playing outside in the playhouses! Here's Jon with his twin sister, Rachel. We had a great Easter!

Stroller Fun

I got little doll strollers for the girls for Christmas. But recently, Melanie has found that she can fit into them. So, Savannah will push her up and down the hall as fast as she can! I just love the craziness in Savannah's eyes in this picture, and the ridiculousness of her outfit (I'm not sure if you can see the dress up necklace and earrings). It's amazing that she's even able to stop the stroller before running into the closet door because she's wearing those silly plastic shoes! They both love it though. I just love it that they can keep each other entertained!

Park Fun

Last week, Jon's mom took all of her grandkids to the park! My girls loved playing with Grandma and their cousins! They all played so hard.

And Melanie loved seeing baby Meredith! I can't believe how quick she's growing!

Savannah had a great time riding her scooter and playing on the slide and swings. Thanks Rose for bringing snacks for everyone! The kids loved it!

Then we got to go to Red Robin for lunch! Yummy!

The Horror

This sad accident occurred a little over a week ago. Melanie was quite saddened by the loss, but after a few days of coping, she did throw the awful thing in the garbage. Nap time and bedtime are still difficult. Her teddy and blankets always end up thrown on the floor; that girl can have a temper when she wants. But she is certainly improving! Jon said that she only cried for about a minute tonight (it probably helped that mommy wasn't home)!

Suns Game

My aunt and uncle came down from Utah last weekend. So my family bought a bunch of tickets to the Suns vs. Jazz game. Jon and I weren't originally invited to go, but my grandma wasn't feeling well and one of my sisters decided that she didn't want to go. So Jon and I were invited at the last minute to go to the game! It was a lot of fun! Jon and I haven't been to a Suns' game since we were engaged. Unfortunately, Jon and I aren't the smallest people any more and I was sitting by a large guy. So we were pretty squished into our seats. But I just enjoyed being out with Jon. The Suns played a pretty good game, until they lost it in the last 3 minutes. Oh well, I guess we can't have it all!

Not So Smart

I'd like to consider myself a pretty smart person, but I guess that all of us have those brief moments of stupidity! And unfortunately, all it takes is a second!
Last night, I was making dinner and right at the very end I managed to brush my hand up against one of the burners on the stove top! Man did it hurt! I was just glad that dinner was all ready and just needed to be put on the table. And even better, Jon walked in the door about 15 seconds after I did it! So he got me a bag of ice and got us all fed! And thank goodness it was my left hand. So I wasn't completely handicapped.
But my hand hurt all evening! I wrapped it up, took some Tylenol, and even went to bed with a bag of ice! I'm very glad to report that my hand is feeling much better today - still a little tender, but much better!
I want you to know that it is very difficult to take a picture of the outer side of your hand, so I hope that you enjoy it!

Love my Aunt

My mom's sister came into town last weekend. Savannah just loves her! Of course she had to bring presents for the girls. She owns a Southwest Indian store, hence the presents that she brought. She gave each of them a pair of pink moccasins, a turquoise necklace, and little beaded bracelets. They loved the gifts! Melanie loves her little moccasins and has wore them everyday since they were given to her. I think that the only other pair of shoes that I've been able to put on her is her Sunday shoes! And Savannah goes through necklace fazes. She'll wear one for 2 or 3 days and then won't for a month. So thanks for the gifts!

They Say It's My Birthday!

Today has been a nice day! Especially because I got to continually remind Savannah that it's my birthday and she immediately started behaving!

I started the day without my own vehicle, so my mom let me borrow their suburban to take Melanie over to MCC for my brother's child development class. The teacher wanted the students to observe how little children (ages 6 months to 2 years) interacted. Melanie is quite shy in new settings, so it took her the whole hour to get warmed up to the idea. But she loved the part at the end when Uncle Brandon got to hold the 6 month old baby, so Melanie went over and gave her a hug and kiss. In the meantime, my mom took Savannah to school for me! Double thanks to my mom!

We went and picked Savannah up from school and my mom took me to pick up Jon's car, that I had taken to the shop yesterday. And what a nice birthday treat: the leak was from transmission gasket, which they had just done a tranny flush for us a month before, so it was no charge for the repairs!

Then we got some lunch at home and Melanie and I took a nap! Savannah went over to my parent's house and made my birthday cake! It was great! I got a ton of calls and emails from family and friends, telling me happy birthday! So thanks for making my day!

Then we had a birthday dinner over at my parents'. I helped cook the steaks, since we were a little bit short on guy power tonight. But my mom made a fabulous dinner! Then we had the wonderful cake that was made! My mom made this marshmallow type frosting for my chocolate cake, which was excellent!

After cake, I got to open presents, which I seemed to get quite a few!

I got a hair straightener, Killer Bunnies expansion pack, finger nail polish, a griddle, a mattress pad, and some chocolates! And I had plenty of help opening all of them.

I couldn't ask for anything better! I just wish that my dear husband wasn't still at work. He missed all the food, fun, and chocolate cake!

It's number 27, for all of those that were wondering!

Sleepy Baby

Last night, Melanie became quite traumatized when Jon brushed her teeth (and not mommy). She cried for a couple of hours before we got her to sleep and then she woke up early this morning! We took Savannah to preschool and then went shopping. On our way home from the store, she pretended to fall asleep. However, she could hardly keep her eyes open! So I played along with her and brought her in the house and laid her on the couch. She fell asleep within about 30 seconds! Poor baby, she was just so tired! Then I had to load her back up in the car about 8 minutes later and go and pick up Savannah. She slept the whole time, until we got back home. Savannah was quite surprised to climb in the car after school and find Melanie asleep! I'm just glad that her 20 minute cat nap didn't completely ruin her regular nap!

Park Time

Last week my mom asked me to take one of my sisters to viola lessons. So I took the girls down the street to this little park while we waited for her to finish. The girls had a lot of fun and got plenty dirty!

Crazy Hair

Every once in a while Savannah loves to try and do Melanie's hair. This is usually the product of all of her hard work! Such a beautiful masterpiece!
