My mom has been watching Melanie for me when I take Savannah to swim lessons. When I came to pick up Melanie yesterday, she was wearing a cute little apron. She just looked so adorable walking around everywhere and wearing her little pink apron!

Grandma's Birthday

We went over to my grandparent's house on Monday night for my Grandma Bloomfield's 77th birthday. My girls love going over there! Of course, Melanie sat and snuggled with Great Grandpa. She loves sitting with him and it was making Jon a little jealous. She especially liked Great Grandpa's homeade strawberry ice cream! I must admit, that it was really good! Grandma's favorite cake is Mississippi Mud Cake, so I made one for the little celebration! It was really good too! Grandma didn't think that it had enough chocolate on it and had to add a spoonful or two of hot fudge to hers; which I followed suit! You just can't go wrong with more chocolate!

Birthday Celebrations

We've celebrated Melanie's Birthday for 3 days nows! She loved all of the attention, the singing, the cake, and the toys! Here's a few highlights from the last couple of days:

A Nice Surprise

On her birthday, Melanie was playing with her car.

She was having a good time pushing it around, and an even better time when she opened the little trunk. Inside was a YUMMY treat that one of her cousins left for her!

My Baby's 1!

Today is Melanie's Birthday!

I can't believe that she is already 1!

The Missing Jack-O-Lantern

There is a new Cingular Store on Val Vista and Southern. The other day when we drove past it Savannah asked me, "Mom, did you see that Jack-o-Lantern?" I didn't have a clue as to what she was talking about. But when we drove back past it she asked me again. I looked and saw that they had a large balloon of their logo on the top of the building. I asked Savannah if she was talking about the balloon that looked like an X. She said, "It's an X-Jack-O-Lantern!" When we drove past the building today they didn't have the balloon out. Savannah was quite disappointed and asked me, "Mom, where's the Jack-O-Lantern?"

Toilet Tales

Yesterday we spent a good amount of time in the bathroom trying to get Savannah potty trained. She is just so stubborn though. She would sit on the toilet for me, but she really knows how to hold it! We read books, colored pictures, and played with the blocks just so I could keep a close eye on her. We even ate a bunch of snacks and had drinks to help motivate Savannah, but it didn't seem to do much good. We're trying again today, but we've still been unsuccessful.

To bad I didn't know that last month was my power month; just think of all the things that I could have accomplished. Now I'm going to have to wait an entire year to get those extra projects done!

Little Pointer

Melanie is really good at pointing. It's kind of funny when she does it. She likes to turn the lights on and will point at the switch until I help her turn them on with her little pointing finger. I'm trying to teach her to hold her finger up like that when you ask her how old she is, but she hasn't quite mastered that yet!

Mini Pops

These are the neatest little popsicles! They are mini-popsicles and they are the perfect size for little kids! One box comes with 30 popsicles! Melanie loves them and she can eat one on her own!

4th of July Fun

The 4th of July is Bryan's birthday, lucky boy, always getting his birthday off! So we went out to his house for swimming and a BBQ. All of us had lots of fun in the pool and the food was great!

The girls really liked being under the waterfall!

Jon had a good time playing volleyball with the rest of the boys.

Melanie got all cozy with Great Grandpa holding her and Savannah enjoyed Tate pushing her on the swing.

Even though Bryan's getting old, wii hope that he enjoys the present that we got for him!

Overall, we had a very nice 4th of July and I hope that everyone else had an enjoyable day too!

Geek Overload

On the 4th of July, Jon and I went with his family to see Transformers! Jon really wanted to see it and he totally loved it! I thought that it was pretty awesome too! After the movie, Jon told me that he was going into Geek Overload!

My Sleeping Beauties

Kids are so beautiful when they're asleep!

Melanie is such a funny sleeper. I got this picture of her holding onto the crib bar while she's sleeping! She usually is either holding onto one of the bars or has her arm or leg out through the bars!

Savannah is doing so much better at holding still in her toddler bed. But I couldn't help but take this picture. She has found this hard cover Book of Mormon that she has been carrying around everywhere (it's her new favorite book; it replaced the Spanish-to-English Dictionary). I thought it was so cute that she wanted to read it before her nap and then she fell asleep with it!

Close to Walking

Melanie is getting so close to walking on her own. She has been pushing different things around the house, especially any stroller that she can find. So Jane went and got her a little walker to play with. She was scared of it at first, but she's gotten over that and is pushing it around quite a bit. She will take 2 or 3 steps if she is trying to get from one thing to another, otherwise she just gets down and crawls. I'm thinking that she'll have this walking trick down here in a few weeks.
