The BIG Day
So it's finally here! RAGNAR! Yes, it seems like Jon has been training for it forever, but now it's finally here. Jon drove up to Prescott last night with his brother, Rob, our good friend Kim, and another teammate, John. They were up bright and early this morning because I got my first text message before 6 am. They were supposed to check-in at 6:00 and then their start time was for 7:00 am. Jon called me at 8:30 and said that they were already on their 3rd runner; which means that Kim was already done with her first leg (of 3.6 miles)! Now that it's 10:30, Rob should have just finished up his first leg too (5 miles)! Jon won't start his first leg until around Noon, and he'll be running 4.4 miles. Anyways, I'm really excited for them and am only sad that I'm so far away from all of the action. But good luck to all of the runners - there are 12 people on the team, including Jon, Rob, Rachel, Kim, and Justin. But please keep them in your prayers too, as they still have at least 2 more legs to run and will be running all night and into tomorrow. Their estimated time of arrival is about 4:00 pm on Saturday. They will cross the finish line as a team and we plan on being there for that. I'm sure that they would love any support from anyone that wants to venture out for that. The race ends behind the Bass Pro Shop at Mesa Riverview. Anyways, good luck guys! We love you!

Early Birthday Present
Well, all of you still have a few weeks left to get me something for my birthday. But Jon already got me exactly what I wanted!
A Piano!
I'm so excited about it! We went to My First Piano last week and picked out a beautiful, gently used Samick piano. And it was finally delivered today! I already spent about an hour or so playing on it. Now I just need some music that I can play! We only have the Hymn book and Primary Songbook, but I've had plenty of fun playing out of them already!

Valentine's Happenings
Jon and I decided to celebrate Valentine's Day a week early. I surprised him with getting my hair cut, but he surprised me with flowers! I loved them and am only sad that they didn't live longer!
We went to PF Changs for dinner! Love that place! It was so nice to go out and just be with Jon. This past week, we worked on making Valentines for Savannah's class. Boy is it hard to motivate a 4 year old to write their name 20+ times! But she did it! She had picked out Hello Kitty valentines and she did a great job putting them in their envelope along with a piece of candy.
We also made some brownies for Savannah to take in for her class party. I found a small cookie cutter and made heart shaped brownies. It was fun and I had left over brownies for me to eat!
On Valentine's Day, Jon went out and ran the "Two Sisters, One Heart" 10K in Queen Creek (his big relay race is in 2 weeks).
I wish we would have gone and watched him, but instead I decided to make heart shaped pancakes for breakfast.
I thought they turned out great, but the girls must have woke up on the wrong side of the bed, because we had lots of crying before Daddy made it home.
We ended up taking the kids and going to Red Robin for dinner with some friends...pretty low key, but we enjoyed it!
Happy Valentines Day!
Happy Valentines Day!
Choppy Choppy
Well, I couldn't stand my hair any more. So I surprised Jon last Friday and went and got it all chopped off. Jon's dad has been telling me for a while now that I should get my hair cut short like Savannah's. I haven't been brave enough to do it, but I finally worked up the guts and off it all came. I love the way it looks (when I find the time to do it)! And Jon was very surprised, but he totally loves it.
However, don't get used to this look forever. My next goal is to grow my hair out and donate it to Locks of Love. It's going to take a while, but now that I've had short hair once, I don't think that I'll be so scared to go back to it!
