Savannah asked me the other day:
Mom, when you're a grandma and I'm a mom, am I going to have to feed Spencer?
I thought that it was just too funny. I told her that when I'm a grandma, then Spencer would eat big kid food like her.
Melanie came in the kitchen while I was making lunch last week. This is how the conversation went:
Melanie: Hiding you, Mom.
Me: Were you hiding from me?
Melanie: Yeah.
Me: Why were you hiding?
Melanie: Scissors.
Me: Were you playing with the scissors?
Melanie: Yeah.
Me: Did you cut something?
Melanie: Yeah, Cinderella book.
Isn't it nice that she'll come and tell on herself? I had her bring me the scissors and told her that she can't use the scissors without asking. I'm just glad she didn't try and cut her hair!

Doctor's Visit
The day after Savannah's birthday, I took all 3 kids to the doctor for their check-ups. Savannah and Melanie for their annual check-up and Spencer for his 2 month check-up. Here's what we found out:
Overall, the trip took a total of 2 hours. At least 45 minutes (if not a whole hour) of that was waiting. We ended up going to McDonald's and having lunch, getting a toy, and ice cream to make us all happy again. We then took a really nice long nap!
Savannah: 34.5 lbs and 40.5 in tall
Total Damage: 4 shots - Now she's all ready to go to school and shouldn't need anymore until she is 11! She was not happy about this at all and cried the most out of all 3. One of her shots gave her a really nice bruise. I tried to get a decent picture of it, but it's not the greatest.

Melanie: 24.9 lbs and 34.5 in tall
Total Damage: 1 shot - She handled it rather well and got over the ordeal the fastest.

Spencer: 12 lbs 4 ozs and 24.75 in tall
Total Damage: 5 shots and 1 oral vaccine - This is not a nice way to wake up a nice, peaceful, sleeping baby. Poor little guy!

I feel so blessed to have such healthy, happy kids!
Vannah-Banana's Birthday (AKA: Party #3)
Savannah wanted a Princess Party for her birthday! My mom did a great job pulling it off for her!
My mom and sister-in-law made a great little castle cake, which Savannah absolutely loved!
The kids played Put the Glass Slipper on Cinderella.
And Savannah had a great time opening presents.
Happy 4th Birthday my sweet little princess!

The Combined Party (AKA: Party #2)
About a week ago we celebrated both Savannah and Melanie's birthdays with Jon's family.
We started off with home-made pizza for everyone!
It was really good!
Jon did an excellent job making it!
Then the kids all got to decorate their own cupcakes. Of course they had fun with all of the frosting and sprinkles.
We sang Happy Birthday to both Melanie and Savannah. They each got their own cake and candles to blow out. Savannah, of course, wanted the chocolate one.
Melanie was scared of the candles again, so Jon helped her out with them.
They got to open a few presents too. Melanie's favorite was a swing for our back porch.
Savannah's favorite was a Spongebob bouncy/hopping ball (the kind that you sit on and bounce around). It's even her favorite color!
Grandma got them new swimsuits, that they totally love.
They also both got water paints and large color pages from their cousins. They have already put those to good use.
And of course Aunt Rachel and Uncle Mark took them out to Red Robin later that week. The girls love going there! They had a blast!

Thanks everyone for the birthday fun!

Mel-Bell's Birthday (AKA: Party #1)
We celebrated Melanie's 2nd Birthday a couple of weeks ago. I can't believe that she's already 2!
My family threw her a fabulous Strawberry Shortcake Party! My sisters spent lots of time decorating for it (instead of taking their Sunday naps). I loved the little cupcake tower and the Strawberry Shortcake figures that they added to the top of some of them.

Of course dinner was great! Melanie got to wear this stylish hat that my youngest sister made for her.The cake and cupcakes were yummy. Melanie did actually lick the cake right before we lit the candles.
She wasn't too sure about blowing out the candles, so Savannah gave her a hand.
Melanie had fun playing Pin the Nose on the Clown. She wasn't sure exactly what she was doing, but she enjoyed it.
She got a number of gifts. Some of her favorites included a new Strawberry Shortcake movie,
a small doll house, and a Spider-Man shirt (which she quickly put on).
Thanks everyone for making the day so special for her!
Happy Birthday Baby!
